Three Cameras, Three Perspectives
Main camera (wide): 4/3" CMOS sensor, 20 MP, Hasselblad color science. Variable aperture f/2.8–f/11, 24mm equivalent. The only consumer drone with a 4/3" sensor — the same format used in mirrorless cameras like the Panasonic GH6. The larger sensor means greater dynamic range, lower noise at high ISO, and more controllable depth of field.
Medium tele (3×): 1/2" CMOS, 48 MP, 70mm equivalent, f/2.8. For aerial portraits and compositions with moderate perspective compression.
Super-tele (7×): 1/2" CMOS, 12 MP, 166mm equivalent, f/3.4. For long-distance surveillance, events, and situations where physically approaching the drone isn't viable.
Apple ProRes in the Cine Version
The Mavic 3 Pro Cine Premium Combo includes 1 TB internal storage and records in Apple ProRes 422 HQ — the format used in Apple cinematic productions. For production companies working with DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro, ProRes eliminates a conversion step in the editing pipeline.
The standard version (without the Cine module) records in H.264 and H.265 at up to 200 Mbps with D-Log M and HLG profiles.
For Whom
The Mavic 3 Pro is ideal for professional cinematographers, audiovisual production companies, high-end real estate photographers, streaming platform content creators, and any application where image quality is the primary criterion and budget is not the limiting factor.
For occasional or enthusiast use, the Air 3S delivers 90% of the quality for less than half the price. The difference justifies itself in commercial productions where the 4/3" Hasselblad camera and 7× super-tele make a real difference in the final product.
